Get Your House in Order
“Get Your House in Order” – these are the words I keep hearing repeated over and over for the month of October.
If you’ve been decluttering and clearing out your “stuff,” then go you! There’s a real sense to keep doing this, to keep moving things out of your space. This creates both expansion and spaciousness—two words that have been pinging in my intuition over the last couple of weeks as I continue the sorting and clearing process.
I’m also at a point of wishing to find myself again. So when I hear those words—Get Your House in Order—it makes perfect sense. Not only does it mean the obvious (getting the house tidy and organized) but also tending to the “house” of my physical body.
As items leave my home, I can clearly see what’s remaining. That’s when I begin re-aligning each space—changing its feel and look, physically cleaning, and then following with an energetic cleansing. The same applies to my body, I’ve finally realized.
For me, it’s about getting clear on what makes me feel less stressed in my home. That means fewer items—creating spaciousness to breathe freely, to feel calm and nurtured.
And for myself personally, well… that’s a journey that begins with my wardrobe, chest of drawers, and re-examining my self-image—what makes me, me. Clothes have always been a problem for me. I’ve never been interested in spending hours shopping; I usually just grab the basics I know will work—jeans, t-shirts, windcheaters. But I’ve found that running on autopilot isn’t working so well anymore, especially with menopause bringing big shifts. I’m feeling such a strong urge to get everything in order!
The bulk of my decluttering has been done through September, but I still have those nitty-gritty things to tackle: clothes, books, and paperwork. The things I tend to avoid because they take time. But it’s a work in progress, and I can already see and feel the change in energy around me. It’s all creating a place of spacious expansion!
Get Your House in Order Checklist
Clear out the clutter
Re-organize your space (if needed)
Physically clean your space (get out the cleaning products and go for it!)
Energetically cleanse your space (Sage is good or even uplifting music)
For yourself: sit with your body and its energy. Notice what needs attention, then take small steps toward your health and wellbeing. A healing session can support energy alignment so both your physical and energetic bodies are vibrating at their optimum level. (Healing session such as Reiki is a wonderful way to align)
